"Yahoo is looking to the future here, and tying the entire life of their company to a bunch of pubescent girl bloggers was the smart move."

Yahoo Back On Top After Purchasing Millions Of 13-Year-Old Girls’ Blogs - The Onion (via brooklynmutt)

Uh, that’s not exactly the punchline that you think it is, Onion.

Then again, what do I know? I used to be a 13-year-old girl.

The Unseen

Get it while it lasts, folks. The movies of the future will be all digital, all the time.

Will they? As a digital restorationist who works almost entirely on new films and television, I weigh in with some bias, but however boutique or diminished, there are people who will always want that look. Not to mention the ongoing debate over digital archiving.

Today I convinced my bf to watch Pride and Prejudice…then I remembered how sappy it gets and found myself in a quagmire of conflicted embarrassment. Fortunately, he agreed that it’s really satisfying regardless. Gord beans, I really hate trying to untangle something I love intensely from gendered nonsense. I’m sadly underprepared to defend romance against its status as low art just because it’s assigned to women.
